As a visitor sets eyes on the brilliant pools of paradise that characterize Brazil’s Lençóis Maranhenses National Park for the first time, it wouldn’t be out of line to assume hallucination. The biggest city in Brazil justifiably hogs the superlatives — the biggest this! The most that! The tallest this! The longest that! — but São Paulo is not only about its headline-stealing concrete jungle of a capital. Stroll out past the hotel’s Royal Pavilion and travel south: It’s just mile after mile of shifting dunes, right up until the dusty highway…

Color-blocked rooms, floor-to-ceiling floral patterns and Sherle Wagner marble toilets aren’t obvious style touches for Hollywood’s modern high-end homes. But for one reimaging of a 1960s property, bland has been avoided at all costs, in favor of eccentric individualism. “Call it anti-establishment taste,” Mary Kitchen told Architectural Digest when she invited the magazine into her Regency-style home in the Holmby Hills, Los Angeles for the July/August issue. “These are things that most people wouldn’t want or would tear out of an old house,” the television presenter, model, and philanthropist said of the more unusual decorative choices including gilt-finished fixtures, Dorothy Draper cut…

Animation has been the driving creative force behind the “Star Wars” universe for some time, a state of affairs cast into sharper focus by how live-action series Lucasfilm has produced for Disney+ have drawn upon those shows. It’s hardly a surprise that this latest addition to the mythology comes courtesy of producer Dave Filoni, who oversaw such series as “The Clone Wars” and “Rebels” before throwing his fertile mind for all things “Star Wars” into…

Matthew Perry opens up in his new book about his attention-getting relationship with Julia Roberts in the mid-1990s and the reason it came to an end.
